What this tool does
Exports captions when YouTube exposes subtitle tracks for the URL. It does not invent or auto-generate captions if none are listed.

Public YouTube URLs that analyze successfully. Availability of each language depends on the source (manual or auto tracks when returned).
What MediaLink returns
A language list in the results card when tracks exist, plus download modes already supported by the product (embed / separate / script-only).
Common problems
Empty subtitle menus usually mean the video has no exposed captions. Analyze failures are separate from “no tracks” — fix the URL first.
Limitations
MediaLink cannot create captions for videos without tracks, translate missing languages, or guarantee auto-captions for every upload.

Can I download auto-generated captions?+
If MediaLink lists them for the URL, you can select that language like any other track. If they are not listed, they are not available here.
What if no subtitle languages appear?+
The source did not expose tracks to the analyzer. MediaLink will not generate captions in that case.
Is this different from the Subtitle tool page?+
Same product behavior. This landing focuses on YouTube URLs with the analyzer embedded; /tools/subtitle-downloader remains the generic tool page.
Can I combine subtitles with trim?+
When the UI allows it for that download mode, yes — follow the options shown after analyze.
