How to Download Instagram Reels
To save an Instagram Reel with MediaLink, copy the Reel’s public share link, open the Instagram Reels Downloader, paste and Analyze, then choose a video format from results and finish under Downloads. Login-walled or private Reels usually cannot be analyzed.
What you need
A public Instagram Reel URL you can open without logging in as the owner, plus a browser. Stories, private accounts, and login-only posts are out of scope for MediaLink’s public analyzer.
Step 1 — Copy the Reel link
In the Instagram app or website, open the Reel, tap Share, then Copy link. Confirm the URL points at that Reel — not a profile page or a truncated share preview.
Step 2 — Open the Instagram Reels Downloader
Use the Instagram Reels Downloader landing so you land on the Reels-focused analyzer page. The generic video tool can also analyze supported URLs, but the Reels landing keeps task intent clear.
Step 3 — Analyze and save
Paste the link, run Analyze, then pick a video format from the results card when formats appear. Queue the job and save it from Downloads when complete.
Reels vs other Instagram media
Reels are short vertical clips with Reel share URLs. Regular Instagram video posts may use different URL shapes — use the Instagram Video Downloader when you are saving a non-Reel video. Photos belong on Instagram photo tooling, not this Reels guide.
Common problems
Failures usually mean the Reel is private, the link requires login, the URL was incomplete, or the provider temporarily blocked the fetch. Retry with a fresh public Copy link before assuming MediaLink is down.
Limitations
