How to Download a Facebook Video
To download a Facebook video with MediaLink, use a publicly shareable video URL, open the Facebook Video Downloader, paste and Analyze, then select a format and finish under Downloads. Posts that require login usually cannot be analyzed.
What you need
A Facebook video URL that opens without logging in, and a browser. Group-only, friends-only, or otherwise login-walled posts are not supported by the public analyzer.
Step 1 — Copy a public video link
Open the video → Share → Copy link (wording varies by app/web). Test that the link loads in a private/incognito window if you are unsure whether it is public.
Step 2 — Open the Facebook Video Downloader
Paste into MediaLink’s Facebook Video Downloader. Prefer that landing for standard Facebook videos; use the Facebook Reels Downloader when the post is a Reel-style clip.
Step 3 — Analyze, choose a format, download
Submit Analyze, review returned formats, pick a video option, queue the job, and save from Downloads when complete.
Common problems
Most failures are login-walled links, incomplete URLs, or temporary provider errors. If analysis returns nothing useful, re-copy a public share link rather than a Facebook app deep link that only works while signed in.
Limitations
MediaLink does not bypass Facebook privacy settings or DRM. Public reachability of the URL is the hard limit.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my Facebook link fail Analyze?+
The post is often not publicly reachable. MediaLink only works with public URLs the extractor can fetch.
Facebook Video vs Facebook Reels — which guide?+
Use this video guide for standard public Facebook videos. Use the Reels downloader/landing when you specifically have a Facebook Reel URL.
Where is the file after I queue it?+
Open Downloads and save from the completed job.
